Literacy Stations |
|
Our literacy centers are organized on a crayon pocket chart. |
The children are in color groups, and each group reads its column of
centers for the day from top to bottom. The children go to the first center until the timer beeps (15-20 minutes later,
depending how is spent with each reading group), then they go to the next center.

Our Reading Center |
|
In the reading center, the children have a quiet,
comfortable place to go to look and enjoy books. Our classroom library encourages development in the following area: concept
formation, object labeling, peer and adult interaction, sentence structure, language, vocabulary growth, and a positive attitude
toward reading and books. .

Our Computer Center |
|
When the children use one of our classroom computers, they are able to work
at their own rate and practice their computer skills. Each child participates in SuccessMaker to practice their math
and reading skills. Knowledge Box is a program that we use which covers numerous concepts in reading, math, science,
and social studies.
